Position Summary
Legend Brands is hiring for a Purchasing Manager located at our Burlington, WA Headquarters. This position collaborates with all departments in the company to develop and implement sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and process improvements. The Purchasing Manager is viewed as a strategic business partner by internal colleagues and suppliers and works innovatively with suppliers to obtain maximum value on behalf of the company. Provides direction and coaching to other associates in the Purchasing Department.
Experience/Skills

• 10+ years’ experience leading all aspects of a purchasing program

• Strong managerial and leadership skills. Experience in a leadership role in manufacturing and/or procurement with focus on strategic results required
• Previous experience in overseas procurement supply chain management at multiple manufacturing locations
• Experience with ERP and supply chain systems; Microsoft D365 preferred


Qualifications
• Strategic planning and execution of procuring materials and all other related components for Legend Brands’ companies
• Lead cost reduction and transition activities
• Identify and where appropriate, develop alternative sourcing strategies including offshore sources of supply
• Work in cooperation with the Engineering, Product Development and QA Departments to develop a robust supply chain for new and existing products
• Conduct formal requests for quote, tabulate, review and compare bids with specifications to verify conformance; consider the quality of items, services and abilities of the supplier in terms of company needs. Analyze proposals and negotiate agreements consistent with purchasing policies and procedures
• Evaluate, monitor, select and revise the supplier base based on price, quality, service/support, warranty, and reliability
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, maintaining high levels of personal contact with these organizations
• Assist in the development and implementation of policy and procedures for the department
• Established track record of integrity, professionalism, commitment, discipline, teamwork, leadership and quality
• Working knowledge of procurement methods, terminology, and procedures including contracts, blanket purchase orders, forecasting, consignments, and competitive bids
• Intermediate to advanced computer experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers
• Ability to manage concurrent projects
• Ability to utilize a cross-functional team approach and lead, facilitate, and coach associates to obtain results
• Excellent attention to detail
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in a business or engineering related area preferred
